CHILD DEDICATION

SIGN-UP

The Bible tells us that children are our heritage—a gift entrusted to us by the Lord. They are not accidental additions to our lives, but intentional blessings given by God with purpose and care. At Heritage Church, we do not practice infant baptism. However, we do believe in intentionally dedicating our children to the Lord.

Child dedication is not a sacrament, nor a declaration of a child’s salvation. Rather, it is a public act of worship in which parents acknowledge that their children ultimately belong to God. Our children are the Lord’s, entrusted to our love, protection, and care. As parents, we are called to raise them in His ways—to teach His truth, model godliness, and reveal God’s heart through our words, actions, and daily parenting. This calling is both a privilege and a sacred responsibility.

Scripture gives us a clear example in the life of Hannah. In First Samuel, she dedicates her long-awaited son, Samuel, to the Lord, willingly surrendering him back to God’s service. Her act reflects faith, gratitude, and trust in God’s greater purposes. In the same spirit, child dedication today is a declaration by parents: “Lord, this child is Yours. We commit to raising them in a way that honors You, depends on You, and points them to You.” It is an act of worship, dependence, and hope, trusting God to work in the hearts of our children in His perfect time.
